Intelligent sub-station monitoring

sub.net

Cost Effective Solution Delivers Event Reports Anywhere in Seconds.

What is different about sub.net?

To start with sub.net carries out its own analysis work in each tiny low-powered system - in real time and reports ready classified results immediately. A remote Masterstation is not necessary – get the data in seconds on your PC or mobile!

Data is available directly to SCADA and by down-loading to a Master-station or IT services as and when required.

System Summary

Sub.net is a completely new concept in substation monitoring, incorporating the very latest in software, hardware and communication technologies to meet the evolving needs and demands of the power supply industry.

It will significantly reduce engineering fault analysis time, assist in network improvements, aid fault location and help reduce customer minutes lost (CML). Both installation costs and time are greatly reduced due to its very compact size.

Embedded software within sub.net provides automatic analysis of the recorded data resulting from system events and sends prioritised reports as email with attachments, fax or SMS message. This enables rapid engineering assessments to be made and appropriate prompt actions to be taken. There is now no longer any need for the user to retrieve large volumes of data from multiple instruments to a centralised master station before information can be made available to them.

A simple web browser is all that is required to retrieve waveform and RMS values if signal data is required for further analysis. This data is also despatched as an email attachment in COMTRADE format for analysis in any COMTRADE viewer.

DIN rail mounting design enables rear panel fixing of the sub.net, close to the input connections. This, together with its very compact size, enables big reductions in both panel space requirements and wiring costs.

Recording Modes

Sub.net offers 4 separate recording modes:

  • Triggered waveform recording for capturing high speed protection events and power quality waveform faults.
128 samples per cycle for up to 60 cycles on all signal and contact inputs.
  • Triggered RMS/swing recording for longer events such as recloser sequences and frequency oscillations.
50 samples per second for up to 60 seconds on selected parameters.
  • Continous trend recording for load profiling and long term voltage and frequency variations.
1 sample per 10 minutes in a 26 week rotating buffer on selected parameters.
  • Continuous RMS recording (optional) for recording very subtle variations in measurements.
10 samples per second in a 14 day rotating buffer on up to 12 selected parameters.
