A key feature for sub.net is the ability to provide information for locating faults on distribution networks. After trials lasting a number of years a significant reduction in Customer Minutes Lost (CML) has been shown yielding improved customer performance and reduced penalties for the DNO. Transient faults are also located and recurring positions are inspected and repaired reducing Customer Interruptions (CI) as well.

Sub.net calculates the fault impedance and this is submitted to the network map in the GIS. The possible fault locations are returned to the Control Room who dispatch the repair crews.

The fault level and fault impedance are available via the RTU ports.
